Series: Rebellion
The Series: Rebellion has been live for some time on the website, but wanted to make a quick post on it as I’ve finally gotten around to sharing my write-up on it.
Rebellion’s objective was to capture shots that would “tell” the story of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 but from a strictly photographic perspective - in essence, a very similar objective to that of my 2012 Mass Effect Trilogy series, A Shepard’s Journey. Using Matti Hietanen’s Cinematic Tools, I would go through each level and do my best to find moments that - in my eyes - depicted the story. Unfortunately, by the time I had finished most of the project, I had a devastating crash that pretty much killed my OS. Fast forward to when I finally got everything running and installed again - the tools no longer worked with the game and I was unable to get to the last few levels I was missing. Despite all this, I still want to share the work I was able to capture during this project hence this release.
Nevertheless, I do think it was one of the most enjoyable experiences I had so far doing a project like this. Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is an astoundingly beautiful take on the Star Wars Universe and it was an absolute joy to explore the levels with this objective in mind.
While I don’t think I will come back to finish this particular series - when the right Star Wars game comes around - I’ll realize the original goals of this project.
